Taken on Tunnels Beach, Kauai, Hawaii. Canon 7D MkII/Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
While staying on Kauai, I got up very early one morning and made the drive along the north shore through the town of Hanalei to the small parking area. After getting set up, I was able to watch the sunrise and was greeted with the gorgeous view.
If you've ever seen the movie South Pacific, you would recognize this scene and know the mountain in the background as Bali Hai. It's actual name is Mount Makana. Either way the surroundings are incredible.
It wasn't until I was photographing for a little while, that I noticed something near the shore. I made a closer examination with my telephoto lens and figured out that there was a honu (Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle) photobombing my picture. I grabbed my gear and got closer to take some photos of the large turtle.
